WIP Controller - Competitive Salary - London, UK
As our WIP Controller you play a pivotal role in the Finance team, business partnering with the client teams to assist and support in the successful management of project finances. The primary focus of your role is to monitor and analyse the finances of each project or account whilst simultaneously undertaking regular WIP review with the client teams.
The ideal candidate is not afraid to get up from their seat to have a conversation in person, works better than ever in a fast-paced environment and has meticulous attention to detail. There's no room for sloppiness in your own work; you will work autonomously and hold focus in your independent role, being highly collaborative internally when needed. Some of the key responsibilities of a WIP Controller include, but are not limited to:
Taking full responsibility for our clients' billing (approximately 65 invoices per month), WIP and Intercompany billing, ensuring all instructions are received and invoices are finalised promptly and in line with month end timetable
Taking part in fortnightly and month-end WIP meetings with Business Directors and Accounts teams to review their project financials
Understanding and monitoring the balances of accrued and deferred revenue and WIP with a view to proactively reduce these balances, escalating issues to the Financial Controller
Finalising monthly revenue (ensuring all documentation in place adheres to revenue recognition policy) and lock-in forecast, reporting to FC/FD on forecasts against targets
Becoming our Paprika go-to person, ensuring that client teams are adequately trained in how to use it in line with our internal policies and processes
Taking ownership of debtor ledger including debtor queries and all aspects of credit control
Assisting with management accounts production, such as accruals, journals, and balance sheet reconciliations
Ad hoc duties to assist the FC/FD as capacity allows

The key skills and qualities of a WIP Controller:
Previous experience of Paprika is essential; previous experience of WIP and deferred income would be desirable
Strong written and verbal communications skills in English
Excellent attention to detail, but also has a proactive nature and able to see the bigger picture
Ability to manage own time and prioritise workload
Strong interpersonal skills for interaction with senior members of the Group and remote accounts teams, able to build relationships easily with people from all levels
Energetic, enthusiastic and hard-working and will have a positive approach to challenges, thinking creatively to solve problems; and is commercially aware, always seeking to add value
