Regional Water Resources Manager

Based at either Walsall or Cambridge with travel across both regions

Water is vital and part of our daily lives; at South Staffs Water it is important to us to protect this essential resource, as well as this being a really important issue for our customers. Our Water Strategy Team forecast supply and demand of water whilst ensuring that we protect the environment.

Working as part of an established team, in this role you will shape and deliver some of the key objectives of our Water Resources Management Plan across our South Staffs region. You will plan, develop and implement our Water Resources Strategy which involves:

•Regional planning with multi sector groups such as Water Resources in the West (WRW)

•Water resources and drought management

•Demand management

•Regulatory reporting

•Ensuring we have the appropriate discharge permits in place

•Site visits to reservoirs, rivers and boreholes

•Positively influencing stakeholders such as the Environment Agency, Natural England, other water companies and interest groups such as local Wildlife Trusts.

To be successful in this role you will possess a Degree or equivalent experience in water related, engineering or management discipline. You will have knowledge and skills relating to supply demand balance, biodiversity, the environment and water resource management with health and safety being paramount. You must have a can do attitude with the ability to engage with a range of internal stakeholders such as operational staff, senior managers and Board. Experience within the water industry would be advantageous as would hydro-geology, environmental management, site supervision and project management skills and experience.

You must want to ensure we provide customers with a reliable supply of water in an environmentally and socially responsible way. Good numerical and communication skills as well as attention to detail will also be beneficial.
