Project Buyer/Expeditor - Commutable from Chepstow, Caldicot, Cardiff, Bristol, Coleford

3- 6-month contract

The role is inside of IR35

£20 p/h (PAYE) or £25 p/h (Umbrella)

If you are looking for a role that will allow you to come in and make a difference immediately then please continue reading. My client is looking for a competent Buyer that is well versed in looking at price and cost reductions and is a dab hand with suppliers.

The Expeditor will be responsible for the following:

The role will involve, purchasing and buying various engineering components for different projects within a very diverse supply chain.
This will involve expediting the suppliers to ensure deliveries are correct and on time as well as placing orders, leasing with various stakeholders, supporting the sales team with quotations and dealing with any queries.
You will have to ensure required components and services are being delivered in line with Po dates. Maintain dates on Procurement Schedules as well as PO's
You will be required to maintain supplier relationships to achieve client delivery schedules.
You will be tasked to keep purchase orders in line with MRP requirements, after first investigating the requirement thoroughly.
You will be leasing between suppliers, manufacturers and relevant internal departments. - Chase up drawings/specifications. Deal with Queries.
You will be supporting the sales team with costings for quotations. - raise any concerns with Engineering/Sales or Purchasing Manager
You will be the contact for supplier non-conformance and returns. - chase up relevant departments/ suppliers
You will be involved in procurement internal continuous improvement projects - Lean initiatives /Obsolesce
You will be involved in the Vendor Set up - Issue and chase up relevant forms ensure due diligence checks are carried out, internally and externally.
The candidate must possess the following skills to be considered for this role:

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Responsible for the supply of day to day purchases/Expedites orders - verifying delivery dates
Take a 'Root cause' approach to problem solving. - investigate issues and report so they do not re-occur
To prioritize and organize a varied workload. - direct and indirect Purchase orders
Experience in liaising with suppliers across broad spectrum of requirements.
Strong and confident communicator when working with Internal Teams and Suppliers.
Sound Knowledge of ERP / MRP system - SAP system
