Caribou, Maine: We invite TWO friendly, skilled Pediatricians to join 60 providers on the medical staff of an award-winning, community-owned 65-bed medical center where over 500 employees serve 35,000 residents around northeastern Maine. Two new hires will join an experienced pediatrician and an excellent PA providing compassionate, high-quality care to infants, children and teens. With three physicians in the group, you will have a mostly outpatient practice along with 1:3 coverage of occasional low acuity inpatients (complex patients are referred to the large tertiary medical center in Bangor). Each pediatrician will also attend c-sections a couple of times per month on average (about 75/year total for the group, out of about 220 annual births). You will enjoy seeing patients in a welcoming setting the beautifully appointed Womens and Childrens Health Center within the medical center (a quick walk from the labor/delivery unit), with an excellent clinical and administrative support team. This practice is recognized as a Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH).
The employer is a hospital-affiliated FQHC (federally qualified health center) certified as a Patient-Centered Medical Home, using a coordinated team-based approach that enables patients to take an active role in their health status and decision making.
