On any one day, around 6,000 women and children access Refuge's services. It also runs the Freephone 24-hour National Domestic Violence Helpline in partnership with Women's Aid. Independent Domestic Violence Advocate REF: .5 hours per week £25,883 - £28,725 per annum Hertfordshire We are recruiting for a skilled domestic violence advocate to provide high quality advocacy and support to survivors of domestic violence. You will work in partnership with other agencies to develop and deliver risk management plans to ensure victims' safety. You will be responsible for advocating on behalf of survivors of domestic violence in a range of settings and managing and reviewing your cases. The role involves co-located working with various teams in Hertfordshire as well as being part of the IDVA team, you will get the opportunity to work in a multi-agency setting and learn from other roles. The successful candidate will have significant proven experience of providing emotional and practical support to survivors of domestic violence. You will understand the legal system in how it relates to survivors of domestic violence and have strong communication skills to deliver presentations and reports to stakeholders effectively. An ability to work independently and prioritise a busy workload is essential. We need people who can drive and have access to a car during working hours to travel regularly to co-locations in the South of Hertfordshire (Watford, St. Albans and Hemel Hempstead).
