Position: HVAC Purchasing Manager

Position Summary

Centerline Communications has an HVAC Purchasing Manager position open in our Managed Services division. The position will be based out of our corporate headquarters in West Bridgewater, MA. We are looking for highly-motivated top performers who excel in a fast-paced environment. We expect our Managers to exhibit leadership, to be results-oriented, and to be driven to succeed.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the HVAC Purchasing Manager works with our team responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the service operations group. You will oversee all parts operations including customer support, order fulfillment, and support to the service department. You are in charge of maintaining inventory levels and parts procurement both internally and with outside vendors. Overall ownership for management of parts and accessory suppliers, procuring, evaluating and monitoring performance.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Own incomplete parts orders and researches for inefficiencies causes of delay, etc. then puts procedures in place in order to prevent reoccurrences.
  • Utilize Salesforce to account for issues, returns, receipts of new material and back orders; input essential data and adhere to strict purchasing guidelines.
  • Monitor daily activity and trends to maximize profits, improve customer relations and service, and reduce costs.
  • Work with applicable departments ensuring optimal resource utilization in terms of delivery time, quality parts productivity as well as parts usage.
  • Explore solutions to current processes and systems. Create and implement innovative solutions leveraging a thorough understanding of the business needs, related systems, data and resources.
  • Collaborate with peers to ensure consistency and best practices across regions, often with group decision-making and goal setting.
  • Develop a good working knowledge of product, placement, and inventory control techniques and procedures.
  • Manage the procurement functions related to the purchase of HVAC and Generator products with vendors to understand new product and parts requirements, identifying potential suppliers and exploring cost reduction ideas whenever possible.

Required Education and Experience
  • Associates Degree from an accredited college or university
  • Excellent writing, communication, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required
  • Relevant work experience in service (repairs/maintenance) required
Required Qualifications
  • Strong and proven capabilities across all phases of HVAC, Generator or general service work; leadership for direction setting, clarifying and identifying appropriate issues and risks to be mitigated and which to escalate for overall success.
  • 5 years' experience in the areas of part procurement, inventory management, logistics, and/or supply chain.
  • Previous experience working in a Salesforce environment or similar system a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills are necessary, as this person will interface with other departments, senior & executive management, customers, and vendors.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports and correspondence, and speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in ambiguous situations and across organizational boundaries.
  • Working knowledge of building systems, a preferred qualification.
  • Analytical skills on performance metrics and other measurable business processes and tasks.
  • Effective user of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and standard dispatch software applications.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time exempt position. Days of work are Monday through Friday. Some evenings required.

Travel
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and be insurable under the company insurance policy.
  • 0-10% travel necessary.
