Job description

  • Working under the direction of the Digital Media Manager, this role will support digital assignments as guided by the Hospital's strategic plan and corresponding marketing & communications plan. The Digital Media Specialist will maintain, secure, and evolve the websites of the organization, primarily those managed by the Marketing & Communications department; support includes, but is not limited to, content updates, security updates, and the creation of new capabilities. This individual will collaborate with members of IT/IS and will be expected to communicate effectively as a liaison, bridging the capabilities of technology teams and the needs of administrative teams (such as Marketing) to achieve an objective. Other tasks may include audio/video/image editing/creation, some coding in web languages, short-form copywriting or light proofing of copy being posted online, implementation of content strategies, leading training sessions, and the documenting of solutions or best practices. The Digital Media Specialist will also be expected to support and be knowledgeable about a variety of digital tools such as digital asset management systems, marketing automation platforms, new social media capabilities, webinar suites, online ad services, and analytics platforms. The Digital Media Specialist will be expected to problem-solve, assist the Digital Media Manager in developing new digital solutions, interface with (and sometimes lead) vendors, and deliver on requests in a timely and efficient manner with professionalism.

    • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, Management Information Systems (MIS), or health care related field
    • Minimum three (3) years of digital media experience, preferably supporting the needs of marketing or business teams
    • Demonstrated experience developing and managing a complex, mobile responsive websites, using Drupal, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
    • Demonstrated understanding of information security practices
    • Demonstrated ability to problem-solve without a documented solution, as an individual and within a team framework
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong analytical skills with ability including the use of Excel, Google Analytics, and related applications
    • Demonstrated ability to support a variety of digital systems such as a Digital Asset Management (DAM), video hosting services (YouTube, Vimeo, etc.), social media sites, and a marketing automation platforms
    • Experience implementing current Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and paid search (social and SEM) tactics
    • Some experience with the administration of Windows and Unix-like systems
    • Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
    • Organized with strong attention to detail (technical and non-technical)
    • Ability to multi-task and be flexible enough to evolve in a rapidly changing environment
    • Must be available to occasionally work evenings and weekends

      Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience related to the management of multimedia assets including editing and organizing content, i.e. videos, photos, images, raw files, etc.)
    • Experience with multimedia editing tools such as, but not limited to, Photoshop, Audacity, and HandBrake
    • Experience supporting online commerce systems
    • Demonstrated experience with database administration with knowledge of a server-side language (e.g., PHP) Prior experience writing public-facing copy
