Job description

Working with the Vice President, Global Operations, this position is responsible for developing, leading, facilitating, monitoring and reporting on the success of Badger Meter's continuous improvement journey in direct support of the business needs and objectives. This position works as a corporate consultant/advisor to all Badger Meter manufacturing facilities and distribution locations to communicate corporate policy, procedure and compliance requirements, as well as providing direct support and training to meet our company business requirements as prioritized in SQDC. This position will prepare and make presentations to all levels of the organization, including executive, and is instrumental in leading cultural change towards a metrics driven continuous improvement environment that improves business processes to be both sustainable and repeatable. This cultural change must be in concert with maintaining a Safety first culture (adhere and encourage best practices related to safety during all improvement activities and day-to-day observations) as well as Customer first culture (all value creation must be in the perspective of the customer and business process improvements must facilitate improved service levels, quality, or overall customer experience. This position is able to work with various teams and collaborate at all levels of the organization to influence change and to develop and drive effective continuous improvement activities. Competencies required to be successful in this role is a proficiency in lean tools such as Hoshin Kanri, Value Stream Mapping (VSM/BPVSM), Kaizen, Standard Work, Time studies, TPM, 8-D, Problem Solving, JDI, and a strong ability to drive waste out of the value stream while improving productivity and business processes (eliminating waste in the value stream). Job Description:Work with the Vice President, Global Operations, site leaders and functional operations leaders, as well as colleagues in other departments, to set and manage continuous improvement priorities and budgets, ensuring allocated funds are spent efficiently and are supporting the achievement of business objectivesLead and support operations to establish and maintain standard work and continuous flow in all areas.Create 5S Audit and daily cadence around 5S expectations - Gemba, Visual FactoryMonitor and report monthly on success and/or ongoing progress of our continuous improvement activities - Updates Global Scorecards and Facilitates monthly Safety Quality Delivery Cost (SQDC) MeetingsImplement visual managementImplement SQDC chart standardization by business process areaSupports cascading Strategy Deployment through meaningful goals and improvement activities to the production floor - Connecting work to our strategy deploymentFacilitates the development of value stream maps in order to identify key opportunities (bursts) to eliminate waste and improve performancePrioritize and list lean priorities (Projects, Events, JDI's) based on the present state to future state VSM activity (event roadmap)Daily Gemba/SQDC walk that includes key leadership for the facility with a review of current safety, quality, delivery, and cost; daily chart review to include current progress chart, trend chart, issues/OFI's, as well as an action register for each area that identifies the issue, owner, improvement, and date for completionSupports cascading Strategy Deployment through meaningful goals and improvement activities to the production floor - Connecting work to our strategy deploymentDrives all levels of leaders to implement continuous improvementLeads Kaizen Events/JDI improvement activitiesProvides updates and report outs on continuous improvement activitiesConduct tasks in accordance with applicable Badger Meter policies and procedures.Qualifications:A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar roleBachelor's degree from a four year college in Industrial Engineering, Operations or Supply ChainIntermediate skill level in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Powerpoint, and MS VisioBasic skills in MS OutlookAbility to travel up to 20% of the timeEqual opportunity employer.
