Job description

NES Fircroft have an exciting opportunity for a Base Operations Controller (Workshop Manager) to join one of our key oilfield clients based in Aberdeen. The client would initially like to hire a consultant on a 3-6 month basis, with a view of this transitioning into a permanent, staff position.

Within this role, you will be required to ensure base operations systems are developed, implemented and followed with regard to safety, repair, maintenance, certification and mobilisation of equipment and vehicle, plant & facilities maintenance. Additionally, we are looking for an individual to come in and lead, supervise and develop the Base Operations Team, to ensure all duties are carried out to an acceptable standard by developing and implementing workable systems and processes and ensuring they are followed.

Key responsibilities:

• On-going development and implementation of systems and processes within the Base Operations Department
• Ultimate responsibility for asset & property maintenance
• Responsible for successful planning and execution of mobilisation/demobilisation and for projects
• QEHS leader for Base
• Effective management of spares & consumables inventory
• Leading and supervising of an ad-hoc team to facilitate base operations
• Maintenance of units in a ready state to support business operations including record keeping
• Availability of 3rd party equipment and hoses to support business operations
• Co-ordinate equipment maintenance & repairs
• Equipment certification including 3rd party inspections of units & certifications for relevant customer requirements
• Inventory management pre- and post-load out and maintenance of appropriate inventory levels to support business operations
• Vehicle check sheets kept up to date and vehicles are repaired, maintained & MOT'd as necessary
• Building maintenance & repairs, moving furniture & equipment
• Transportation of equipment arranged as required
• Certification packs are completed to a high standard for each job
• Actioning equipment fault reports
• Ensuring correct storage of goods & equipment
• Ensuring members of staff have correct, up to date, certification to use equipment
• Participating in QEHS meetings, raising any relevant concerns
• Ensuring members of staff and visitors wear appropriate PPE and adhere to site rules
• Ensuring correct stock levels of all spares at all times
• To be a representative of the base operation at business meetings both internally and externally
• Actioning any QEHS recommendations for the Workshop and Yard
• Ensure adherence to the QEHS policies and procedures as specified under ISO standards for Quality (9001), Environmental (14001) and Health and Safety (45001)
• Ensure adherence to all company mandated Health and Safety policies and procedures
