This attorney must exemplify strong managerial skills and sensitivity as a key member of a multi-cultural, fast-paced, global workforce. The potential to take on additional substantive and leadership roles exists, assuming the attorney demonstrates legal acumen and solid judgment with exemplary respect and integrity toward others. The primary responsibility will be to provide preventive, proactive legal advice and solutions on a broad range of human resources and employment law topics and will report directly to L'Oréal's Vice President & Associate General Counsel, Employment Law., * Assist in investigating complaints of unfair or inappropriate treatment of employees. * Provide preventive, practical and proactive legal advice on a broad range of employment law and employee relations issues. * Prepare and deliver training materials regarding various employment topics. * Responsible for keeping abreast of new legal decisions and statutory developments and providing advice to clients regarding those developments. * Manage all aspects of employment litigation and administrative charges, including risk assessment, development of case strategy, and management of outside counsel. * Assist with due diligence related to potential mergers, acquisitions and other business combinations. * Provide guidance on employment related policies, programs, and initiatives. * Provide employment law guidance on issues covering employees across the United States, utilizing outside counsel where necessary. * Provide legal advice concerning immigration-related compliance and mobility issues. J.D. degree from an accredited law school and strong academic credentials. * Member in good standing with the New York State bar. * Minimum of 4- 7 years of experience in employment law. * Strong understanding of California and New York employment law, and comfortable advising on the law of other states and localities within the United States. * Ability to recognize when to elevate certain matters to the attention of the Vice President, Employment Law and/or the General Counsel and other senior management. * Establish and maintain relationships, credibility and trust with clients, stakeholders, legal team members, and other colleagues. * Corporate in-house experience is preferred, though not required if applicant has strong counseling experience. * Willing to travel periodically to locations within the United States. * High level of organization, attention to detail and positive attitude If you require a reasonable accommodation to complete an application for a recognized disability under applicable law, please email .
