In this role you will work on the definition, initial analysis, and bring-up of new foundry process technologies and perform advanced design and development to assess and enable adoption of new technology features. It requires solid circuit & physical design skills in order to assess new process technologies & to understand how these technologies will impact future ARM products. The successful candidate for this role will have had some previous design experience including some interaction with advanced process technology PDK kits. It will required the ability to synthesize assessments and solutions working with early and possibly incomplete process and design information.

This position will also be a part in ARM's future technology research activities exploring potential future process technology features and their impact. You will have the opportunity to interact with directly physical IP architects, physical design implementation teams, and design architects. Our team has a diverse set of engineers working across five design centers globally, servicing both internal and external partners around the world.

Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the analysis for new foundry technologies and future potential technology features.
  • Analyze and interpret results of DTCO/STCO studies of future technologies and assess the impact to ARM's current & future products.
  • Participate in ARM's circuit and physical design research activities with our research partners.
  • Support and teach internal & external partners.
  • Understand current and future process node technologies, and the impact on block-level physical design.
  • Understand EDA tools and algorithms for circuit synthesis, physical design, and analysis
  • Collaborate with EDA on physical design flow improvements as well as with teams across Arm to perform root-cause analysis of issues and develop innovative solutions.
