Salary: $85,000 - $120,000 per year

A bit about us:

We are seeking a Senior Civil Design Engineer (Water Resources/Transportation) with experience working in a collaborative team environment in our Pittsburgh office. We are looking for the right person to lead the design of our water resources program in Pennsylvania including permitting, storm water management, erosion control, Hydraulics studies, and drainage design on a variety of transportation projects across the state.

Responsibilities:

Executes assignments requiring a thorough knowledge of engineering fundamentals and the application of these fundamentals to the production of engineering work
Works on projects that typically include permitting, stormwater management, erosion and sedimentation control, drainage, bridge hydraulics, and other transportation related water resources tasks
Executes a variety of engineering tasks including preparation of reports, investigatory studies, preparation of design calculations, and detailing for plan preparation
Prepares and supervises designs in compliance with company design procedures as well as client standards and regulatory requirements
Is proactive in clarifying directions on project design issues, and proceeds on projects with a clear understanding of the scope, time, schedule and budget
Maintains frequent communication with project team members to verify design requirements and identify problems that arise
Coordinates water resources staff member assignments and provide assistance and direction to staff to ensure project tasks are completed on time and within budget
Performs field related tasks, as necessary, to ensure quality completion of engineering assignments

Job Details

Qualifications

Candidates shall possess a BS or MS degree in civil engineering
2+ years of progressive technical experience, diversified knowledge with water resources design and transportation engineering focus
Prior experience in consulting engineering industry specific to transportation design projects
PennDOT experience is required
Pennsylvania professional engineer registration required, or the ability to obtain
Familiarity with DEP NPDES/Joint Permits and Conservation District requirements for development of H&H studies, storm water management designs and erosion control plans
Experience with MicroStation, InRoads, OpenRoads, and HEC-RAS required
