Job description
POSITION TYPE: Full Time, Direct hire, Hybrid- Mon and Tues In Office. PAY: $70,000 to $85,000 annually based on education and directly relevant payroll, tax, and accounting skill level.
Requirements of the Payroll / Payroll Tax Specialist:
• Education Bachelor degree highly desirable. ( Not required)
• High volume, multi state payroll processing work experience. Large company experience.
• Direct experience with payroll taxation rules, filings, (940/941, W2, etc.), compliance, and year end reporting.
• Experience setting up new tax jurisdictions and following up on tax notices.
• Accounting month end close experience including payroll general ledger entries and reconciliations.
• Technical: Understanding of HCM, Workday (a plus) and Payroll. Intermediate to advanced MS Excel.
Inhouse Payroll Processing
Ceridian ERP system is a plus.
Duties of the Payroll/ Payroll Tax Specialist:
• Combination of high volume payroll processing (Biweekly) and payroll tax support.
• As part of the payroll team, submit payroll and payroll corrections.
• Calculate and process garnishments, taxable payments, and bonuses.
• Audit payroll and payroll taxes.
• Monthly payroll period closing including related journal entry, account reconciliations and reports.
• Provide support for primary contact for USA and Canada tax agencies. Correcting payroll tax returns (940/941 etc.) when needed.
