We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, planning, and overseeing projects. You will be involved in a project from the conception stage right through to completion, ensuring that structures are safe and fit for purpose. This is an exciting opportunity to play a crucial role in the design and physical integrity of our buildings and other structures, ensuring they are safe and capable of withstanding the elements to which they will be exposed.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop projects from early concept through design development.
  • Prepare drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Design and analyze structural components and systems in steel, concrete, and masonry for a wide range of projects including commercial, industrial, institutional, and residential.
  • Conduct structural assessments and investigations to verify the safety and load-bearing capacity of structures.
  • Coordinate with other professional engineers, architects, and clients to ensure project completion in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Review blueprints, plans, and change orders to verify structural integrity of materials and designs.
  • Provide guidance and direction to junior engineers.
  • Attend meetings and communicate with clients to establish their needs and discuss design issues with them.
  • Ensure projects run smoothly and structures are completed within budget and on time.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. A Master's degree is a plus.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in structural engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
  • Extensive experience with building design, civil engineering, and structural engineering.
  • Proficient in design and visualizations software such as AutoCAD.
  • Advanced knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
  • Sound understanding of physics and mathematics.
  • Ability to manage, guide and lead employees to ensure appropriate structural engineering processes are being used.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong decision-making ability and leadership skills.
  • A creative and innovative approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Attention to detail, with an ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
