The JCCSF has just completed the first stage of re-branding itself and is excited to roll it out with your oversight. Reporting to the CEO, the Vice President (VP) of Marketing will be the JCCSFs lead brand ambassador responsible for increasing participation in our existing activities and awareness of our accomplishments and contributions to San Francisco civic life. Additionally, working closely and collaboratively with staff and key stakeholders, the VP of Marketing will help shape new initiatives to promote the institution and engage its diverse audiences. This position is a key driver of internal culture and enthusiasm among staff as well. The VP of Marketing will be tasked with four key priority challenges in addition to directing the day-to-day leadership of the marketing team, collaboratively working with colleagues, program areas, and the Board of Directors to inspire and innovate. ◾Build participation in subscription, event-based, and free activities across multiple areas, including cultural experiences and events, family-facing programs and activities, and fitness and wellbeing services. ◾Increase the profile and awareness of the JCCSF within the San Francisco civic landscape, with other corporate and public-sector partners, and with prospective donors. ◾Bring our brand to life in an ongoing rollout including but not limited to digital media, physical presence, and storytelling to better communicate and inform our existing and prospective participants. ◾Work closely with our consumer insights team to capture and learn more about our programs, participants, prospects, and more. RESPONSIBILITIES This role will be responsible for the development, integration and implementation of a broad range of communication and marketing activities including strategic positioning, creative direction, research, communications and PR, and digital/social strategy. Marketing Strategy ◾Drive participation in activity areas that generate earned revenue such as Fitness, Early Childhood Education, Arts & Ideas, Youth Recreation, and Camp. ◾Drive participation in free or low-cost large- and small-scale gatherings focused on secular and Jewish cultural activities. ◾Manage the ongoing rollout and integrity of our new brand identity throughout the organization. ◾Build efficient systems and processes to manage a robust marketing portfolio supporting more than a dozen internal departmental customers ◾Generate materials with the compelling stories celebrating and exposing all the wonderful activities taking place throughout the JCCSF ◾Advocate for the participant/consumer in program planning discussions by bringing research and communication insights to the table. ◾Oversee strategic communications including PR. Act as primary spokesperson for the JCCSF in the absence of the CEO. Team Leadership ◾Oversee a nine-person in-house marketing team including designers, account managers, and digital marketers with a budget of $2M and a great set of external collaborators. ◾Participate as a key contributor to the executive team ◾Create a culture of excellence and accountability for the work and staff development. ◾Work collaboratively across the organization to draw out stories about the impact of the JCCSFs work. REQUIREMENTS: We are looking for someone who is: ◾Passionate about building community and the city of San Francisco ◾A senior leader with extensive experience in creative and strategic marketing to consumers. Experience with non-profit and Jewish brands a plus. ◾Creative and nimble and able to maximize limited budgets to achieve great results. ◾High energy, extroverted and able to play a lead brand ambassador role internally and externally.
