Position Title: Vice President of Finance Department: Accounting & Finance Supervisor: President General Purpose This position serves as a resource to the President. This position is responsible for oversight of financial planning and strategy, profitability, strategic planning and vision, promotion of process improvement, financial forecasting, budget development, and managing a team. Oversees a staff who manage the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process for the parent company and various other entities Reviews project financial information including budgets, change orders, labor, and forecasts Develops financial well-being of the organization by providing financial projections, preparing growth plans, and managing staff Develops finance organizational strategies by contributing financial and accounting information, analysis, and recommendations to strategic thinking and direction Develops operational strategies by evaluating trends, establishing critical measurements, determining production, productivity, safety and customer-service strategies Develops continuous improvement initiatives across all functions of the organization by designing systems, accumulating resources, resolving problems, and implementing change Develops financial strategies by forecasting capital expenditures, staff requirements, cash forecasting and developing action plans Maximizes return on invested funds by identifying various efficiency opportunities across all functions of the organization Serves as the lead contact for outside CPA firm, Legal counsel, and 401K administration Oversees human resource strategies including determining accountabilities; communicating and enforcing values, policies, and procedures; implementing recruitment, selection, orientation, training, coaching, counseling, disciplinary, and communication programs; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; and planning and reviewing compensation strategies Oversees marketing strategies including campaigns, website activity, CRM integration & usage, promotional activities, social media, news events & media Oversees information technology activities, including server production, accounting software production & upgrades, construction management software, SharePoint activity, phone system performance, CRM software, resource retirement & upgrades Maintain expert job knowledge by remaining aware of new regulations, participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations. Oversees and maintains department developed budgets ensuring accountability across the organization Contacts Frequent contact with company President, executive team members, human resources, project managers, accounting staff, marketing, professional service providers, trade partners, customers, and members of the public. Education, Skills & Abilities MBA or bachelors degree in business, finance, or accounting; Masters degree preferred 10+ years of experience in accounting and financial management practices preferred Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification preferred, but not required Experience in an upper-level management role Highly proficient in accounting software, word processing, and Microsoft Excel Strong GAAP and financial reporting technical skills Construction industry experience is preferred, but not required
