Position Summary

Reporting to Scientist I, the RA II/SRA will apply CRISPR research tools to support advancement of AAV production and characterization. Additionally, the candidate will support molecular and genetic characterization of cellular response to AAV gene therapy. This role typically requires that the majority of the work be conducted on-site and thus will be subject to certain on-site safety protocols during the pandemic.


o Design, execute, and analyze cell-based, biochemical and molecular assays

o Perform CRISPR screens and design follow-up studies

o Produce, purify and analyze rAAV

o Actively contribute to understanding adenovirus virology principles during rAAV production

o Demonstrate a keen knowledge of experimental design, underlying scientific principles, and the ability to analyze and assess results

o Communicate results and research progress during team and departmental meetings

o Prepare, write, analyze, and present technical data and reports

o Work as part of a cross-functional team to drive innovation

Additional Skills & Qualifications:


o BS or MS in Biology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Virology or related field with 1-3 years of industry experience

o Strong track record using mammalian cell culture and performing in vitro cell-based assays is required

o Experience with molecular and biochemical methods, such as RT-qPCR, western blotting is required

o Experience in transient transfection, lentivirus generation and transduction is highly preferred

o Hands on CRISPR and/or AAV experience is preferred

o Experience with high throughput screening is preferred

o Experience running NGS platforms and analyzing sequencing data is a plus

o Experience with design, documentation and execution of experiments

o Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced, multi-project environment

o Strong collaboration, team-working skills and communication skills

o Independently motivated and detail-oriented with good problem-solving ability
