Our client's downhole wireless solutions for the oil and gas industry are used throughout the world by major oil companies during exploration and production. They contribute to efficiency and safety at all stages of oil and gas production.
They are seeking an experienced test and validation engineer who will specialise in research and development for their next generation of battery systems. You will also provide operational insight and analysis based on their extensive battery testing and development programme.
You will lead a small R&D team delivering the company's development programme using their large scale automated test systems. You will maintain, adapt, update and evolve the design of company test systems including when new innovations and applications emerge. A particularly interesting aspect of the role is experimentation and test planning for new battery design where new company products are in development. Close liaison will be required with other engineers to ensure all new products achieve the required specification.
+ Research and Development of specialist battery systems for the oil and gas industry
+ Lead a small team in day to day aspects of the company's specialist battery R&D programme
+ Provide ongoing reporting and analysis of the company's dataset
+ Design experiments and test plans to address new lines of investigation
Skills and Experience:
+ Minimum 5 years' electronic engineering experience with also knowledge of battery chemistries
+ Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent
+ Knowledge of MS Excel, MS C#.net and working with SQL databases and large data sets
+ Knowledge of electronic testing, National Instruments data acquisition systems and software
