£39,438 per annum for 36 hours per week based at County Hall, Penrhyn Road, Kingston Upon Thames, Surrey KT1 2DN. Please note that Surrey County Council's headquarters, where this role is currently based, will be relocating back into Surrey in 2020 to support our Community Vision 2030 .

About the role

We are delighted to announce the opportunity to work in the Business Applications & Social Care Teams as a Senior Specialist (Cherwell).

The purpose of this role is to develop, manage and co-ordinate the critical activities of Cherwell (our Integrated Service Management tool) used across the Orbis partnership (Easy Sussex, Brighton & Hove and Surrey), covering applications lifecycle management and service delivery of the application. You will be providing day to day support for Cherwell and related software, implementing and transitioning to upgrades or new modules, adopting best practice application operation and exploiting new technologies including 3rd Party Supplier Management.

The Bus Apps & Social Care teams strive to maintain a Centre of Excellence and Best Practice in Applications Service Delivery by improving the technical performance of the Councils application.

There will be 2 x Senior Specialist positions (SS10/PS10), one based in East Sussex CC and one based in Surrey CC. These posts are being offered initially as an 18 month secondment for internal applicants or an 18 month fixed term contract for external candidates, with the potential for them to be made permanent after this period. Both positions will be managed by one Team Leader and there will on occasions, be a requirement for both posts to travel to each of the 3 councils, for team meetings, development and supporting customers as needed.

It is essential that you have knowledge of Cherwell, as there will a requirement to work on incident and service request support calls, coming off the back of the implementation of the project.
