Job description

Main Duties:

• Act as a discipline focal point for area of responsibility
• Maintain the required technical quality of work
• Ensure scope and schedule changes are identified in accordance with the Change Control Process
• Actively participate in the maintenance of planning and cost control on allocated scope
• Ensure that designs comply with the relevant Codes, Standards, Regulations and procedures
• Provide technical assistance to discipline assigned personnel
• Ensure, as far as is practically possible, that all assigned work is carried out in compliance with the agreed budget and schedule
• Keep up-to-date with technical developments, National and International standards and legislative requirements related to the discipline scope
• Check work as allocated by Lead or Principal Engineer
• Maintain good communication with the Client
• Visit the Assets specific to scope when necessary
• Assist the Lead Engineer when requested in the execution of their responsibilities and duties
• Ensure discipline filing system for allocated scope is maintained
• Encourage and provide lateral learning within the Project
• Be responsible for assessing effectiveness of working practices and systems with a view to continuously improving systems, personal and team performance

Health and Safety Responsibilities:

• Take into account all aspects of the "Health and Safety at Work etc. Act (1974)";
• Knowledge of, compliance with and promotion of office, site and contract/project health and safety guidelines and procedures;
• Comply with the SCE Safety Management System;
• Take into account all relevant procedures, guidance etc. relating to the work, which will ensure compliance with SCE Management Systems;
• Ensure all personnel working under their direction are aware of the requirements placed upon them by "Health and Safety at Work etc. Act (1974)" and the SCE Safety Management System;
• Actively promote and encourage all personnel to care for themselves and others at all times
