Job Title Senior Development Chemist Role Objectives:- The Senior Development Chemist reports to the Development Group Leader Is part of a team responsible for process development activities on new projects Meets site safety standards and no lost time accidents or major incidents impacting on the site's operation. Meets regulatory and customer quality requirements relating to ISO9001, ISO14001 and cGMP as well as the requirements of cross contamination prevention. Responsibilities:- Ensure that all laboratory activities are carried out safely, and that due regard to safety issues is paid when developing processes for introduction on plant Carry out process development activities on projects as allocated by the Development Manager Act as project manager on designated projects Ensure that the laboratory working area is maintained in a safe and tidy fashion Provide technical support when processes are introduced to the plant Be responsible for day to day supervision of technical staff, planning and co-ordinating work as required to meet project objectives Contribute to technical assessments on new enquiries as appropriate Act as the contact point for other departments on technical issues on new project introduction Take part in technical meetings with customers and act as a contact with the customer for technical issues on projects Contribute to meeting departmental budget targets Key Figures:- Meeting project objectives and timelines Minimising accidents and incidents in the laboratory Core Skills/Competencies:- A high level of chemical knowledge Good understanding of the principles behind process development and scaleup Understanding of the SHEQ challenges for both laboratory and plant operations Data and computer literate and conversant with typical office software packages With over 90 years' combined experience, NES Fircroft (NES) is proud to be the world's leading engineering staffing provider spanning the Oil & Gas, Power & Renewables, Infrastructure, Life Sciences, Mining, Automotive and Chemicals sectors worldwide.With more than 100 offices in 45 countries, we are able to provide our clients with the engineering and technical expertise they need, wherever and whenever it is needed.
