The Bioassay C Group in the Therapeutic Proteins Department seeks a Scientist to design and perform experiments for in vitro characterization of preclinical and clinical drug candidates in Regeneron's pipeline. The ideal candidate will have experience with assays to evaluate antibody effector function, cytokine release and proliferation. Responsibilities will also include development of cell-based assays to measure the biological activity of protein reagents and monoclonal antibodies (e.g. cytotoxicity assays and luciferase reporter assays) for transfer to a QC environment. A strong background in cell biology and an understanding of signaling pathways is essential. Experience with flow cytometry, stable cell line generation, clonal cell line generation, and bioassay automation (Hamilton) is preferred. Must be able to identify assay problems and design experiments to determine sources of assay variability. Candidate must be able to work comfortably in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, and be able to conduct multiple experiments in parallel. A PhD degree in cell biology, biochemistry or related field with 0-4 years post-graduate experience is required.


-Develop methods to characterize antibody effector function activity in primary cells (characterize receptor expression, effects on cytokine release, proliferation, and ADCC/CDC).
-Develop product-specific potency assays. Optimize assays for transfer to manufacturing division. This may require single cell cloning of stable cell lines, evaluating multiple variables to assess assay stability, and implementation of automation for sample testing
-Stable cell line generation via plasmid based and viral-based methodologies
-Present results within and outside of the group
- Plan experiments and documentation to meet program deadlines
-Assist in generating pharmacology reports to support regulatory filings.
-Write potency assay transmittals for transfer to QC.
-PhD with 0-4 years of experience
-Cell Culture (adherent and non-adherent cells)
-Luciferase Reporter Assays
-Cell Proliferation Assays
-Primary cell assays (cytokine release, proliferation, ADCC, CDC)
-Flow Cytometry
-Excellent Communication Skills, including writing skills
-Team Player
-Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
