Reliability Engineer

Our client is pleased to offer a new role for a site based Reliability Engineer to join their Galway Medical Device manufacturing plant. As the Reliability Engineer, your will be involved in the running and optimization of the maintenance spend of the site and work directly with external vendors and site resources. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to identify and solve problems through analysis of data and be able to coordinate multiple technical projects. This Reliability Engineering job is a function of the site Maintenance and Engineering team and offer an opportunity to develop in the role as you take on more complex projects.

Responsibilities:
• Responsible for equipment availability and for driving continuous improvement of equipment availability in a systematic and cost effective manner.
• Work closely with equipment suppliers to build a relationship with a view to optimize equipment effectiveness.
• Provide technical guidance and development plans to the maintenance team building overall team knowledge and effectiveness.
• Manage the maintenance budget for all production equipment driving year on year cost improvements and optimizing spend.
• Liaise with Production and Engineering functions to drive year on year improvements.
• Lead the roll out of a Total Productive Maintenance program on site, developing the program through collaboration with vendors, production and engineering.
• Responsible for year on year improvements through a systematic and data driven approach.
• Reviews and preventive maintenance and work order records to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Knowledge of operating machine tools, electrical measuring instruments, and CNC machines would be beneficial.

Requirements
• Degree qualification in a relevant Engineering discipline or a trade qualification may also be considered with significant industry experience.
• 5 years' experience in a similar role.
