Quality Inspector £21,000-£23,000
My client is part of a worldwide company making copper consumable parts for the automotive industry, who is looking for a Quality Inspector, to work in their busy office in Welwyn Garden City. They are a friendly company, with a high employee retention rate, a generous company pension and 25 days annual leave plus the bank holidays.
The Quality Inspector holds a key position within the organisation. The individual needs to be a good team player and able to communicate effectively with customers, suppliers and my client's other Group companies at all levels of the business, within Europe as well as with our colleagues in the USA, Brazil and China.
Profile and Key Competences
In the manufacturing environment the Quality Inspector plays a key role. The role follows the raw material to the finished part, which is supplied to the automotive industry. The key responsibilities of this role are to use inspection equipment ( Vernier, Shadowgraph, gauges) ; check all parts manufactured, according to the standard and given drawings. Patrol shop floor machines regularly checking produced products, interacting with all shop floor team members. Providing support and guidance where required. Support the Quality Manager to investigate internal quality issues. Communicate with other department to solve and manage quality problems.
First Off & Last Off Checks Maintain Inspection Records (Manual & Computerised)
In Process & Final Inspection
Goods Inwards Inspection
Gauge and Measuring Equipment Calibration Control and Documentation (Manual & Computerized) Maintain gauge calibration and Calibration Register Arrange for calibration of metrology equipment
Maintain Statistical Process Control system - including Data Set-Up of Control Parameters
Prompt liaison with sales personnel and supplier on any quality issue.
Support Quality Manager in Internal non-conformance investigation by attending meetings and collecting information from production and elsewhere if required.
Communicate with Purchasing, sales and production for solving daily issues regarding goods to be used in production matters.
Managing Reject register.
Maintain Supplier C of C records
Manage Internal Non-Conforming (Non-Con) Product. Maintain Internal Car register
Help to manage Visual inspection area.
Support Sales Team. Visiting customer if required by the Business keeping contacts with them as appropriate in order to be able to respond quickly.
Creating ISIR report for development product if its required. Maintain ISIR report system.
