Job Description The Project Engineer is responsible for assuring design and engineering result in safe, reliable operations and the constructed facilities and equipment meet business unit, operations, process safety, maintenance, and environmental requirements. The Project Engineer will actively participate in Detail Design, Procurement and support the project team during Construction and Startup phases of the project. The role requires collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to identify gaps, develop solutions, provide expert feedback, develop procedures, and build a capital efficient facility.Key Job Responsibilities:Ensure capital efficient design is implemented through each EPC phase of the ProjectResponsible for overseeing the design, installation, and commissioning of the Ethylene Process equipment such as the Cracked Gas Compressor, Quench Water, Columns, Reactors, etc.Ensure project technical and contract requirements are satisfied by monitoring and reviewing design outputs of contractor and vendorsEnsure operations and maintenance requirements are satisfiedParticipate in kickoff meetings with critical vendorsCoordinate and interface with external stakeholdersManage, coordinate, and consolidate responses to queries, clarifications, and document reviews from stakeholdersProvide design and engineering input and recommendations considering capital costs, safety, environmental, operability, and maintainability.Coordinate with other disciplines (Instrumentation, electrical, civil, etc.) where cross-functional support is requiredEngage subject matter experts (SMEs) when neededLiaison with and provide input to Polyethylene and Offsites personnel on technical issuesProvide support of 3D model reviews and process hazard reviewsAdvise project management of developments that could affect safety, quality, cost, and scheduleAssist in preparation of operations system for organizing and maintaining documentation necessary for operationCoordinate Company review of Management of Changes (MOC) and PHA Action RequestsRequired Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or equivalent in engineering with 7+ years of relevant experience requiredPrevious capital project experience and/or working with an EPC contractorMust have good trouble-shooting abilitiesMust be a self-starter with desire to lead and take responsibilityMust have strong commitment to personnel and process safetyMust have knowledge of Industry StandardsMust have ability to work with peers, company employees, and ContractorsCommitment to relocate internationally to engineering office and construction siteCommitment to stay on the project through Mechanical Completion and possibly startupExcellent leadership and team building skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExcellent planning and organizational skillsPreferred Experience:Experience working within a Client team advantageous'Grass roots' major capital project experience.Experience working with an EPC contractor(s)Previous experience working in an ethylene unit or on an ethylene 'grass roots' capital projectWork Location:Detail Design will be performed internationally, in either Japan or South KoreaConstruction of RLPP will be in Ras Laffan, QatarWith over 90 years' combined experience, NES Fircroft (NES) is proud to be the world's leading engineering staffing provider spanning the Oil & Gas, Power & Renewables, Infrastructure, Life Sciences, Mining, Automotive and Chemicals sectors worldwide.With more than 100 offices in 45 countries, we are able to provide our clients with the engineering and technical expertise they need, wherever and whenever it is needed.
