Job Title: Civil & Structural Superintendent - Process Job Type: Contract / 24 Months Job start date: Immediate  Duties and Responsibilities: Job Purpose: • Provides safety leadership by example to the NFE Onshore Project Team and the EPC-2 Civil & Structural Contractor Team, its sub-contractors and site vendors o As delegated by the Construction Head Pipeline/Civil, the incumbent is responsible for the implementation of the NFE Onshore Project Site Safety program which includes the SHES Activity Schedule. o Responsible for ensuring the EPC-2 Civil & Structural Contractor Team implements and sustains its obligations and responsibilities for SHES project deliverables • NFE Onshore Project EPC-2 Team Construction representative for monitoring and coordinating site activities of the Civil & Structural Contractor Team and its subcontractor(s) in their area of responsibility.   • Reports on the construction activities, progress, areas of concern and mitigating actions. Leads appropriate weekly construction discipline review meetings. • Prepares for and participates in weekly construction review meetings. • Responsible for implementation of execution activities and ensures development, review and approval (as required) of appropriate plans, procedures, and programs for safe and effective execution. This includes authorization of RLIC permits. • Provides accurate, timely and routine reports to the Head Pipeline/Civil Construction on project planning and execution activities • Reviews and approves the Civil & Structural Contractor Team construction sequence plans, work plans, pre-task planning and method statements to ensure comprehensive safety and feasibility in their area of responsibility. • Leads incident investigations with support from the SHES organization. • Ensures Civil & Structural Contractor Team construction activities are completed in accordance with NFE Onshore Project procedures, regulations, specifications, standards, and permit to work procedures as applicable, including relevant RLIC procedures. Daily sanctioning of permits and monitoring of work areas. • Coordinate and correspond with other parties and asset owners in RLIC corridors and crossing areas where required. • Participates in the review of subcontracts and ensures that adequate control and changes in work procedures are established. • Reviews and approves construction field changes and extra work requests as delegated by the Head Pipeline/Civil Construction. • Supervises and manages NFE Onshore Project Team direct report project personnel. • Assists NFE Onshore Project Construction Head Pipelines/Civil in executing his responsibilities and acts in his behalf during his absence. • Demonstrates ability to plan and schedule work (short term and long term) and ensures execution of work plan by subordinates (as applicable). • Monitors and ensures the correction of non-conformance report items and other issues supporting QA/QC compliance. • Monitors site material handling, prefabrication and warehousing procedures with respect to their area to facilitate construction progress.   Dimensions: Operating Budget:  NA NA No. of Reporting Staff: NA Other: Focal Point for construction execution of Civil & Structural scope in support of Construction Head Pipelines/Civil. Key Result Areas: • Timely mobilization of EPC-2 Civil & Structural subcontractors and the build-up of a backlog of work comprised of materials, information and access to the work area. • Ensuring full compliance to NFE Onshore Project requirements in the construction of the Civil & Structural scope • Safe and timely completion of Civil & Structural construction activities Operating Environment, Framework and Boundaries: • Works in a Project environment in which the incumbent strives to achieve best in class Safety, Health, Environmental & Security performance by creating a culture that encourages everyone to perform their best every day on every task. • Reviews and approves EPC Contractor’s construction sequence plans, work plans, pre-task planning and method statements to ensure comprehensive safety and risk have been mitigated. • Works in a highly visible Project environment with large capital expenditures and significant schedule execution pressures. • Works effectively within established policies and procedures, and participates in the further development of these to meet changing needs. • Works in a dynamic team environment that has high expectations for flawless Project execution in safety, quality, cost and schedule performance, which requires the incumbent to demonstrate reporting accuracy, initiative and the ability to multi-task as essential skills. • Demonstrates willingness to tackle a variety of tasks in response to evolving business needs. • Must be flexible and willing to work Night shift or extended hours as per sub-contractor’s work schedule if required. Multi-tasking ability is a plus. Knowledge Skills and Experience: • Broad experience in all project phases, i.e. engineering, procurement and construction.  Will have at least ten (10) years specific involvement in Civil & Structural Construction project execution. • Good technical and supervisory skills. • Worldwide experience with EPC Contractors, construction sub-contractors and site vendors in particular those EPC Contractors involved in the construction of onshore production facilities. • Proven Management and leadership skills. • Strong teamwork, facilitation, with the ability to communicate and interact at all levels of the organization. • Good written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to work with diverse cultures to obtain world class performance. • Middle East region experience preferred, with recent experience (last 5 years) on Qatargas Projects and working in Ras Laffan Industrial City • Experience in road and culvert construction and techniques • Experience in structural steel erection of pipeline bridges over critical infrastructure • Experience in crane operations including crane set up and monitoring operator and rigging competency.   • Review crane lift plans and monitoring and promoting safe rigging practices of steel members, pipe and equipment.
