Job description

Our client, a global oilfield service business, is currently seeking to hire a Project Accountant / Finance Specialist for an initial 6 month contract position to be based at their office in Bristol. Although the role will initially be remote working, the business will most likely return to office based working from July onwards, however, there will still be some flexibility regarding remote working.

• Project cost control for a portfolio of projects. Managing the impact of change orders and identifying and reporting changes in expected cost for project scope.
• Quarterly forecasting of spend profile across projects, reflecting project execution in line with the project plan.
• Quarterly Project Cost Review (PCR) to validate total project cost to wider SPS management team.
• Root cause analysis of cost variances to budget.
• Feedback of execution cost variances to tender costing teams improving cost forecast accuracy.
• Management of cost budgets within Oracle ERP.
• Reporting of any quarterly volume variance through to SPS QMI
• Support the SPS cash collection effort by maintaining project focus on timely achievement of project cash milestones.

Qualifications & skills required:
• Strong Academic background
• Working knowledge of Excel and willingness to learn quickly
• Ability to complete detailed analysis of cost variances
• Strong work ethic
• Strong interpersonal skills and an effective team player
• Effective written and oral communication skills
• Ability to multi-task in a fast pace environment and attention to detail
• Commitment to EHS, integrity and compliance priorities
