Job description

Primary Purpose:

Responsible for managing all aspects of our relationship with current and prospective companies, including: new business development, new agency and existing employee product underwriting and software training and product positioning.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and build the relationship between the Company and the agency force in an assigned territory
  • Serve as the primary liaison to the agency force and train agents on Company products, systems, and processes
  • Accountable for growth and profitability of assigned territory
  • Promote new products and programs to existing agency force
  • Attend trade association functions
  • Provide market-based competitor insights for product and pricing enhancements

  • Bachelor's Degree or in-lieu of degree equivalent education, training and work-related experience
  • 3+ years of experience with marketing/sales and or underwriting in the property & casualty insurance industry
  • Experienced in P&C products in Louisiana
  • Strong to expert knowledge of flood risks and market opportunity
  • Proven track record executing a sales plan resulting in an expansion of products and services sold and significant financial gains
  • Track record of gaining commitments from prospective customers and effective use of sale closing techniques
  • Ability to persuade and influence behavior through proper sales planning and execution of sales calls
  • Maintain high level of commitment to personally getting things done, assuming personal responsibility for achieving expected results
  • Maintain a positive attitude even when faced with frustration, pressure or change
  • Recover quickly when faced with obstacles or setbacks
  • Must be able to utilize creative problem solving skills to effectively resolve customer issues
  • Effective organization and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and adhere to project deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish working relationships with individuals at varying levels within the organization
  • Must possess effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks promptly and professionally
  • Works independently with little supervision
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Windows
  • Must be able and willing to travel 25+ % of the time
  • Valid U.S. State-issued driver's license and acceptable driving record

Desired Skills:

  • Prior experience in a similar position with current knowledge and established relationships with independent agency owners and trade association organizations in the state
