Be inspired The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity is delivering an ambitious strategy that aims to significantly grow our income. Along with funding an existing world-class programme of research, treatment and care, we have also launched a £70 million capital appeal to build The Oak Cancer Centre that will provide radical new solutions for the research and treatment of cancer. Be challenged To help us achieve our goals, we are now looking for a new Philanthropy Manager to join our high performing team. The role will contribute to both our ongoing hospital priority projects and the capital appeal. As Philanthropy Manager you will support the management of the Capital Appeal Board members and the recruitment of new Senior Volunteers and Ambassadors in order to identify and initiate relationships with prospective individual donors to raise five, six and seven figure gifts. You will have a proven ability and passion for relationship management and donor acquisition, driving the delivery of our acquisition, donor centric strategy for individual and corporate philanthropy. Coming from a background in major gifts or volunteer board fundraising in the charity sector, you will be a skilled relationships specialist, attuned to the sensitivities of high value relationships. You will have experience securing major gifts and will enjoy an externally focussed role, with many face-to-face meetings. You'll also need to be capable of effectively communicating complex funding proposals to a range of donors. We are looking for a fundraiser with the very highest quality of donor stewardship skills, able to flourish in a high-profile environment. Our team is supportive and passionate about our work, and our senior team members have substantial fundraising experience, so there are exciting learning and development opportunities for you.
