Operations/Manufacturing Manager - Flexible Location with travel to Far East and South Africa

£60k-£70k plus excellent bonus scheme, company car, pension, medical cover and other very good benefits

Electrical Accessories Manufacturer

UK based but responsible for overseas operations.

As a leading manufacturer within their market sector, our client is constantly seeking new opportunities to grow its business and increase its market share both domestically and on a global scale. As well as having well established manufacturing sites in the UK, it also has a substantial and successful production facility in China and an overseas operation in South Africa.

Due to its recent growth they are now seeking a professional Operations/Manufacturing Manager to ensure that both these overseas business's continue both with their growth and deliver the productivity, quality and product project targets that will sustain the company's competitive edge. Based in the UK you will have responsibility for the management of the Chinese operation including budgetary control, headcount and future strategy. Continuous improvement is an integral part of the company culture and so assisting with improvements to the supply chain including manufacturing would be a key responsibility. The company are keen to escalate the growth of its South African business and its further integration into the companys other operations, so another significant focus on this role will be to oversee the acceleration of activity in this location.

You will be an experience Operations/Manufacturing Manager with experience of overseeing overseas production and operations facilities and improving the both the supply chain and processes via lean practices. Culturally aware you will be familiar with respecting and adapting to the values and customs of the countries you have successfully operated within and gained buy in from the overseas management and staff through your empowering, approachable and supportive leadership. Although not essential experience of the electrical accessories manufacturing industry would be advantageous, as would a knowledge of BS and IEC standards.
