Scope of Service:
The body in white planning department is responsible for ensuring that the body in white design is feasible and all design for manufacture principles have been followed. We are responsible for taking the design from the start and developing the manufacturing strategy, product feasibility, body in white facility planning and project management to SOP in order to deliver the project to the product emergence process timeline, working with all Project stakeholders
Key Deliverables: The Technical Manager for Body in White is responsible for providing technical leadership and guidance to ensure the achievement of project developments and business objectives. Key responsibilities include:
Lead the planning process from conception of activities, design development, product feasibility and sustainability choices concerning the manufacturing plan.
Project management of the product feasibility process from styling themes to design release, ensuring a feasible design that supports planning of the facilities to ensure the product can be manufactured right first time.
Responsible for leading prompt concern resolution on BIW production planning related activities, co-ordinating all resources at the managers disposal to drive project deliverables to their optimum.
Working in strong collaboration with module leaders, R&D, Purchase, Quality, Manufacturing, Group planning partners and external suppliers.
Proposing process and method improvements to develop departmental capability
Advising management of strategic opportunities in areas of technical expertise, developing and gaining buy in to the strategic technical direction.
Key Skills/Experience: An experienced Production Engineer or Manufacturing Engineer with solid body in white experience. Key skills required include:
The ability to manage projects from start to completion whilst consistently delivering against targets and driving improvements.
The ability to maintain and share technical expertise.
Strong communication and influencing skills combined with the ability to work collaboratively.
You will be analytical with strong problem solving skills.
