POSITION TITLE: Managing DirectorLOCATION: Washington DC, NCR (National Capital Region)REPORTS TO: Regional Senior Vice President, Northeast RegionThe Managing Director (MD) leads strategic, programmatic, fundraising, community engagement, and administrative success in our NCR location. You will provide vision and leadership, fiscal responsibility and sustainability, budget, and program management oversight.You will lead a team to execute and advance our Tech training and have the opportunity to shape an innovative workforce development approach in the NCR. Per Scholas is no ordinary non-profit -- we operate in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and the Managing Director will take on a broad portfolio of diverse responsibilities.WHAT YOULL DO:Fundraising & Business DevelopmentServe as face of Per Scholas in NCR, representing Per Scholas in regional meetings, conferences, panels, and media opportunitiesDevelop and lead Per Scholas NCRs local fundraising strategy in partnership with the Regional EVP, and with support from the national development teamGenerate local operating revenue through a diverse range of fundraising activities (private foundation, corporate, public, individual support, and employer-paid)Partner with the national development team to generate grant requests and reportsPartner with the National Social Ventures and Sales team to generate business development and customized training opportunitiesDevelop and manage a local advisory board of business, and community leadersProgram LeadershipDevelop, lead, and implement Per Scholas NCRs annual operating plan in partnership with the National Training Team and Regional EVPManage and ensure high-quality delivery of our Tech training to Per Scholas adult-learners and alumniDevelop and implement new training initiatives in response to local market demandFunctional knowledge of Salesforce, data analytics, accuracy, and managementCultivate a pipeline of employers in the NCR communityIncrease awareness of Per Scholas brand and tech training in the RegionTeam LeadershipServe as Per Scholas NCRs primary liaison and point of contact with Per Scholas training, finance, communications, development, administration, human capital, and social ventures teamsLead a team of seven and facilitate regular feedback, performance management, professional development, and team meetingsFollow local and national workforce, business and tech industry trends to inform learner and employer partner needsEnsure that all training goals are met or exceeded, including outcomes tracking and reporting, using Salesforce and other platformsPrepare, manage and grow the annual operating budgetSenior Leadership Team MemberDrive and engage in national organizational strategiesCreate an environment that fosters and embraces changeWorking across functions with peers to ensure collaboration for shared goalsWHAT YOULL BRING TO US:Professional Requirements5+ years of experience managing teams of strong performers to successA keen understanding of the foundation, corporate, and government funding landscape in the NCR with demonstrated fundraising and development successExperience fulfilling goals in ambiguous, fast-paced, entrepreneurial environmentsPast success linking operational and business functions to strategic objectivesDemonstrated ability to build C-level relationships and convert them to partnershipsAn inclusive philosophy, with experience working with ethnically and socioeconomically diverse communitiesA demonstrated understanding of what it takes to build a supportive, collegial work cultureExceptional interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate and effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders at all levelsExcellent conversational, presentation and writing skillsCustomer service orientation with an ability to build and maintain solid internal and external relationshipsExperience in workforce development, talent acquisition, and human resources a plusA strong working and functional knowledge of Salesforce and data management a plusPersonal CharacteristicsYou thrive in a creative, inventive, fast-paced startup environment with people who are passionate about their work and missionYou are open and accepting of feedback, coaching, and growthYou are a data-driven, results-oriented and forward-looking catalyst for social changeYou have a collaborative and flexible work style; youre excited to work both cross-functionally with other departments and independentlyYou are tech-savvy and learn quicklyYou are detail-oriented, with exceptional organizational and time management skillsYou are a strong communicator with strong oral and written skillsYou are strong at managing your time and you can balance multiple projects and tasks.You stand behind our purpose, believing that individuals from any community should have access to well-paying careers, and that talent should be recognized and recruited from many diverse sourcesWHY WORK HERE?We believe our staff is the heart and soul of the organization.
