Team Overview:

Masterworks is a platform for investing in blue-chip, multi-million dollar artworks. The company has over 20,000 investors signed-up on its platform and is growing quickly.

Market Overview:

"Blue-chip" (defined as the top 100 artists in terms of sales volume) has outperformed the S&P 500 by 180% since 2000. Prior to Masterworks, the only way to allocate to fine art is to purchase multi-million dollar paintings. We now make it possible for anyone to allocate to this asset class.

Position and Responsibilities Overview:

We are seeking a Manager of Sales Operations with experience managing operations around inbound and outbound teams. The current sales team is 4 individuals, growing to 6-9 individuals over the next 12 months.

Currently, all investors looking to join the Masterworks platform must sign-up and schedule a phone call with a sales representative. Each day, our sales team has 100+ calls with potential investors to educate them on the asset class. Over the next several months, we would like to scale that to 300+ calls per day.

The successful candidate will possess leadership in sales operations and management to make our sales process more reliable and effective. These qualities include:

  • Strong product and technical knowledge with sales CRMs. Knowledge of Hubspot is a plus.

  • Instituting sales process for a high-volume inbound team.

  • Monitoring all investor communications (phone, email, etc.) to make sure they are handled correctly with constant coaching and oversight.

  • Creating and optimizing commission plans to incent the right behaviors over time.

  • Optimizing sales scripts to product better results.

  • Creating and monitoring KPI's (calls, investments started, and other funnel metrics).

Requirements or Skill Sets:

  • 5+ years of sales operations experience for an inbound or outbound sales organization.

  • 5+ years of experience in operating and working with sales CRM tools such as Salesforce, Hubspot, or others.

  • Experience working for a start-up.

  • Interest in the art industry a plus.

  • Hard-driving achiever, with a balance between sales process and results-orientation.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be in the NYC area.
  • Must be eligible to work in the US - no exceptions.
