We are currently seeking an Interior / FF&E Designer specializing in Housing to join our Portland team as we work to challenge ourselves creatively, surpassing our client's expectations.

Job Description

Our Portland office is seeking a highly creative, energetic and action-minded individual well versed in assisting and running FF&E design for complex projects. Your passion for design is matched by your ability to remain organized and track project deliverables. Responsibilities
  • Manage or participate in projects of all sizes from schematic design through construction administration, including FF&E sourcing with support from the Senior Designer.
  • Participate writing scope, schedule, and fees used for proposals and RFP responses.
  • Works under the direction of senior designers, assist in the development of design concepts and solutions.
  • Coordinate drawing documentation with architectural team and consultants, lead drawing and specification documentation through all phases of the project.
  • Actively participate in inter-disciplinary collaboration meetings and charrettes.
  • Prepare drawings, materials, and concepts for client presentations.
  • Gather inspiration to create mood, material, and design presentations with minimal supervision.
  • Produce furniture plans, specifications, material selections, and schedules with thoughtfulness and minimal supervision.
  • Creatively direct art consultants to select art.
  • Proactively participate in the client, vendor, and consultant communication and meetings through all phases of the project.
  • Actively expand and share the knowledge of furniture, vendors, resources, technology, and sustainable solutions with the team.
  • Manage and supervise FF&E and art installation on site.
  • Enjoy participating in office initiatives and adding to AMA culture.
Qualifications
Qualifications
  • Bachelors or Master's degree in Interior/Interior Architecture Design from an accredited school.
  • Minimum 3 years' Interior Design experience with a background in any of the market sectors: Senior Housing, Student Housing, Affordable Housing, and Market-Rate.
  • Experience working in an integrated architecture/interiors team, and/or coordinating with an outside architecture firm.
  • Experience working for/with dealers and procurement agencies a plus.
  • Available for occasional travel within the US for installations.
  • Must be detail-oriented with the ability to organize information and tasks efficiently.
  • Familiar with Revit, Bluebeam, InDesign, and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience working in an integrated architecture/interiors team, or coordinating with an outside architecture firm.
  • Interested in continuously learning and implementing sustainable sourcing practices.
  • History of developing and maintaining client relationships.
  • Collaborative, team-oriented, and passion for learning.
