Job description

IT Infrastructure Engineer required to join our client based in the Scottish Borders. You will be joining a rapidly expanding organisation with a growing and ever-changing Infrastructure estate, you can expect a lot of cutting-edge technology, responsibility and the opportunity to build modern infrastructure estates.

There is no shortage of complex, enterprise level projects to get involved in from day one as my client look to embrace the latest technology. We are looking for someone to match my client's appetite to constantly build with a keen passion for emerging technology with cloud and security projects on the horizon.

The ideal candidate will ensure the optimisation of all IT Infrastructure and be expected to deal with complex technical issues. You will require an extensive knowledge of core Microsoft technologies within virtualised Windows Server environments. We require a real technical specialist with a broad skillset covering Server, Network, Virtualisation and Storage with strong troubleshooting skills.

The role is based in the Scottish Borders, so you will be well placed to commute from the South of Edinburgh, Midlothian or East Lothian.

Key Skills and Experience

** In-depth knowledge of multiple infrastructure platforms from server, desktop and storage, to Virtualisation and networking

** MS Windows Server 2008, 2012 - Including Server clustering

** Strong knowledge of Active Directory and associated services - DNS, DHCP, Group Policy

** MS Exchange Server 2010, up to 2013

** VMware ESXi implementation as well as support /administration

** Strong knowledge of network infrastructure - WAN/ LAN / Firewalls

** MS SQL Server - Support / Administration / Troubleshooting
