BASIC PURPOSE: Responsible for Human Resources and Shipboard Scheduling Systems (MAPS and PeopleSoft) production support and generating ad-hoc reports using SQL and/or PeopleSoft Query. Responsible for the administration, liaison and coordination of projects, including interfaces. Subject matter expert to make recommendations to improve business processes. Act as a technical liaison between Human Resources departments and Information Technology (IT) on system improvements, upgrades, system testing, conversions, implementations and training system users.
Administer the Human Resources Systems for HR Corporate and HR Shipboard.
Troubleshoot production issues, provide analysis, and resolve in a timely manner.
Work with IT on system changes and ensure deliverables meet deadlines.
Responsible for quality assurance testing of all system development and enhancements prior to production implementation.
Works hand-in-hand with IT Team to modify custom reports, develop new custom reports, create/update custom processes, and/or develop new system interfaces.
Support all interfaces between the HR/Scheduling systems and other internal/external systems.
Define report specifications and initiates report enhancements as required including ad-hoc requests. Maintains all standard HR system reports and ensures all reports are published on a regular basis.
Assist with the implementation of new HR and Scheduling systems including system analysis, design, testing, and training.
Perform mass changes in the HR systems.
Monitor MAPS replication process and system availability ensuring that replication is current. Escalate issues to the IT department and notifies end user and HR management of system's problems as necessary.
Recommend and coordinate all user training and prepare system training materials.
Serve as a liaison between HR Department and Security administrator on MAPS and PeopleSoft security. Ensure appropriate security is given to users.
Perform continuous data audits to ensure highest level of data integrity exists; establish data format standards and apply throughout systems.
Comply with data security, Internal Audit and SOX requirements in support to Human Resources.
Maintain the configuration set-up and maintenance of the HR and Scheduling systems: HR, benefits, compensation, learning management, recruiting, performance management, newbuilds, ship itineraries, workflow, notifications, templates, etc.
Maintains personal knowledge of all systems through self-training, certifications, seminars, and other educational means.
May require working off hours and weekends to support production issues or upgrades.
Perform other job-related functions as assigned.
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Human Resources or any related degree with some specialization in computer and/or equivalent work experience.
EXPERIENCE: Three years' supporting Human Resources and/or Maritime Scheduling systems. One to two years of human resources experience. SQL advanced knowledge.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: Necessary working knowledge of software development and database design processes to recommend, design and oversee the delivery of system enhancements. Intermediate or advanced knowledge of SQL to be able to create/publish reports, notifications, and modify templates within the MAPS system. Knowledge of PeopleSoft Human Resources and PeopleSoft Query. Knowledge of the MAPS system to maintain and provide technical support and implement systems enhancements and upgrades. Knowledge and experience with Fidelio and Amadeus is a plus. Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office. Ability to multi-task by solving problems, taking initiative, and providing recommendations for improvement. Strong analytical/diagnostic skills and attention to detail is required. Must work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment with changing deadlines and priorities. Excellent written and verbal communication.- provided by Dice
