Job description

Our client, an independent senior school in Hertfordshire, is looking for a suitable Houseparent to join their high achieving, well regarded institution.

The independent senior school is a progressive boarding and day school for girls, aged between 11 and 18. Our client is located on a beautiful, rural estate in the Hertfordshire countryside, but is also in close proximity to London and to major international airports. The school provides a nurturing house structure tailored to meet the needs of the girls as they progress from the Junior School all the way up into the Sixth Form. Our client, is also proud of its international community; around 20% of the pupils are international and welcome girls off all faiths and none. There is a warm and friendly community where everybody knows each other and there is a flexible approach to boarding to meet the varying needs of individual families. Our client also has high academic achievement, with pupils regularly winning places at the top universities both at home and abroad.

Currently our client require an experienced Houseparent to support the smooth running of the boarding team. The successful Houseparent applicant will care for the pastoral welfare of the boarders in Years 9, 10 and 11. The Houseparent will be a supervising adult presence in the boarding house that is committed to ensuring the health and wellbeing of the boarding students and assist them in their daily lives. The successful Houseparent applicant will likely have pastoral experience, who is committed to maintain standards of ethics and behaviour of the college. The Houseparent will also be able to maintain a friendly, welcoming and happy environment. The Houseparent responsibilities include managing the administration of the House, be fully involved in the weekend programme and keep up to date records, correspondence and all relevant information concerning the girls.

The position is full time and term time only, Houseparent's are required to be available at school several days preceding the start of term. The school provides accommodation with the role.
