We have an exciting and unique opportunity with our client; a value lead and progressive organisation. Our client is looking for a Head of Organisational Development. You will be working closely with the Executive Director to design and deliver an innovative people strategy. This is an exciting time to join the organisation as the executive team are dedicated to a new direction for the charity with an organisational development focus, and so you will really be able to drive and establish positive change throughout the organisation within this role.
In this position you will have line management responsibilities for the L&D Manager, Volunteer Manager and Equalities Officer. You will need to have a hands-on approach to leading this team and implementing your ideas, delivering your own L&D sessions with a focus on developing managers and succession planning. You will also have the opportunity to pioneer the Apprenticeship levy which the organisation is passionate about and the chance to play a major role in D&I strategy by helping the organisation grow from Silver Investor of People award to Gold.
You will also be working closely with the wider HR team in delivering a strategic and operational HR function to staff across the charity.
A mixed background of both private and not-for-profit organisations is preferred for this position. A commercial understanding would be incredibly beneficial to this forward thinking organisation and prior not-for-profit experience would be useful for building upon the work of the existing volunteering team. You will have ideally worked in a organisational development capacity or within learning and development roles. Proven experience within a leadership role and CIPD or Degree equivalent is essential.
