Our client is one of the UKs largest infrastructure companies, responsible for the operation and maintenance of the some of the UKs High Speed Railway at multiple stations across London and the South East.
The Head of Facilities Engineering for our clients Building Services division will lead and manage the facilities and site service engineering teams in providing facilities and maintenance activities and be responsible for the strategic and daily management of the sites facilities management including building fabric, hard services (mechanical, electrical. Lifts and escalators) and structural / civil based examinations and maintenance activities.
Head of Facilities Engineering (Building Services) Job Responsibilities
*Develop and implement the department's strategy for asset care for equipment under the department control and drive improvements in overall engineering performance in compliance with statutory regulation
*Assume a lead role in the delivery of facilities led capital projects.
*Provide technical expertise and advice on the design & procurement of facilities equipment.
*Develop, maintain and improve engineering processes to execute all engineering activity in a safe and compliant way.
*Ensure that all engineering activities are completed in compliance with HSE requirements including the provision of risk assessments and method statements for all relevant activities.
*Maintain site engineering documentation
*Providing facilities engineering representation at engineering project related group company meetings.
*Develop the maintenance competence, specifically the upskilling of staff to meet the requirements of new and existing assets across buildings, including civils engineering
*Lead the technical input to the development of the standards, specifications, means of compliance (including applications for derogations and non-compliance) and KPIs for Asset Management, including system risk and Product Acceptance process and vehicle/infrastructure interface.
*Set strategy within the technical engineering area in liaison with experts internally and externally including regulatory bodies.
To be successful in securing this Head of Facilities Engineering for Building Services role you will need to be able to demonstrate the following experience.
*Degree level qualification in an engineering discipline or equivalent
*Minimum of 10 years engineering experience in the building services sector
*Experience of defining maintenance engineering strategy for facilities engineering
*Integrate and co-ordinate activity across different engineering disciplines and contribute to the development of engineers within the Practice
*Support the development and implementation of competency frameworks and specify the engineering discipline training needs
*Chartered Engineer or demonstrate equivalent experience (Level 7)
*A sound knowledge of applicable policies, standards and national legislation
*Experience of developing technology and product strategies
*Knowledge of the safety management and risk assessment process
*Formal Project Management qualification (e.g. APMP, PRINCE2, PMIP, MSP)
*Strong commercial awareness and financially astute
*Broad and extensive experience in the development of engineering standards for buildings
*Experience of working in railway infrastructure management or a similar safety critical environment.
