Position: Teacher of Technology (Textiles)

Location: Skelmersdale, West Lancashire

Salary: £30,000 - £46,525

Contract Type: Permanent, full time

Start Date: September 2024

Vision for Education are seeking passionate and dedicated Teachers of Textiles/Technology to join the dynamic team at our partnered Secondary school in Skelmersdale.

Role Overview:

As a Textiles Teacher, you will play a crucial role in nurturing creativity and technical skills among our students. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and challenging lessons that cater to a diverse range of abilities, ensuring every student has the opportunity to achieve their full potential. Your innovative approach to teaching will inspire students to develop a deep appreciation for textiles and design.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons to students in Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
  • Implement strong behaviour management strategies to maintain a productive classroom environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective teaching strategies and resources.
  • Contribute to the wider school community through participation in extracurricular activities and events.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree in Textiles/Art & Design or a related field.
  • Experience teaching at the secondary school level.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage and motivate students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and a willingness to participate in training and development opportunities.
