Job description

Russell Taylor Group are currently recruiting on behalf of our client, for a Document Controller to join their company on a full-time, permanent basis in Essex.
My client is an award winning green technology and landscape build company with decades of experience. Working across London and the Home Counties, the team has undertaken a broad range of both Private and Commercial projects.

What are we looking for:
We are looking for a highly organised and competent Document Controller to set up, manage and maintain project document control systems in line with the company, customer, and project requirements.

About the role:
You will be working with the Landscape Division, where you will assist project construction managers in operations, surveyors, and Quantity Surveyors.
- Coordinate all activities related to the document control procedure, including technical documents, drawings, and commercial correspondence.
- Input document data into standard registers ensuring that the information is accurate and up to date.
- Ensure that controlled copies of latest approved documents and drawings are given to the appropriate staff, sub-contractors, and suppliers as applicable.
- Issue and receive controlled documentation, log issues and receivers, and create general electronic transmittals to the project, customer, and suppliers.
- Maintain accurate registers and actions lists.
- Act as focal point for all team document management matters.
- Assist with the coordination of document management across the whole project including policies, protocols, and practice.
- Chase Site teams for Friday packs and site paperwork, upload into project contract folders.
- Attend Project Prestart meetings, to meet client document team. (large projects)
- Collation of O+M information and liaise with Client O+M administrators.

The ideal candidate will have good writing, analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage a list of tasks whilst working alone or as part of a team along with- Previous Document Control Experience.
- Knowledge of construction practices and standards.
- Knowledge in use of spreadsheets, adobe, Word, database, and job specific software such as 4Projects, Aconex and Asite.
- Ability to keep clear and accurate records.
