Job description

12 month Contract

Scope of Service: 1. Deliver Engine systems and components to meet the project requirements
Responsible for specification, test and validation planning to achieve cost, weight, timing and quality requirements for engine change content
2. Support client Vehicle Motion with management of outsourced engine testing, including:
Engine test hardware; engines, instrumentation, dyno kits, etc.
Engine testbed setup, including hardware, software and calibration
Analysis of results
Fault finding and issue resolution
Key Deliverables:
Support Development of base engines and sub-components
Delivery of Projects (i.e. planning, testing, analysis and presentation of results)
Problem solving
Support outsource activities with generation of RFQs
Support procurement and transport of parts and engines to / from outsource partner
Support outsource partner with setup of engines onto test cells, including calibration / goepelbox setup and creation of new configurations, and all troubleshooting throughout tests
Manage engine dyno kits; support with transport to and from outsource partner, arrange for hardware refurbishment / replacement when required, arrange for kits to be stored when not required, and keep a tracking document live
Support other functions with their engine test requirements, i.e. W12 Production, client aftersales, etc.
Support EM/P1 with any on site development activities, i.e. supporting the W12 production line and engineering workshop
Skills / Experience:
Appropriate experience working in the automotive industry
Experience of engine and component development
Experience of engine testing, from requirement generation through to test completion and delivery of end of test reports
Experience working with outsource partners
Strong communication and intrapersonal skills, with a commitment to building positive relationships with other departments and functions
Technical knowledge of automotive engine hardware and working knowledge of engine software / calibration topics
Experience with engine test setup on dynamometers, including use of relevant hardware (ETKs, Indicating equipment, Goepelboxes, etc.) and software (INCA, MDA, AVL Indicom, etc.)
CAD design skills (Catia or CREO) would be useful but not mandatory
