Systems Administrator - Permanent - Altrincham (mix of remote and on site)

Really exciting opportunity, my client is looking to bring an Systems Administrator on board that can stand on their own two feet be controlled and not panic, there will be multiple projects that my client if looking to implement of which one is Office 365. This is going to be a varied role and a lot of exciting projects.

Systems Administrator that can:-

Demonstrate strong and broad technical capabilities to lead and maintain the company infrastructure working to industry standard best practices. You will be expected to be able to work with autonomy and ensure that the IT systems are supported, implemented, and maintained to the highest standard.

Systems Administrator Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the IT Service Desk, responding to all tickets raised (put a ticketing system in)

• Responsible for the systems & devices that support the day to day running of the business

• Management and support of IT Operations systems & services including patching, security and maintenance

• Infrastructure Asset Management

• Disaster Recovery Planning

• Maintain and update a range of operating system images, including deployment

• Infrastructure Projects

• Act as the Technical lead on the selection of new end user software & hardware

Systems Administrator Nice to have Technical Skills

AWS - EC2, S3, VPC, RDS, IAM, CloudFormation
Firewalls - Fortinet/FortiGate
Switches - Cisco or HP
Microsoft 365, including Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, One Drive
VPN, subnetting, routing, VLAN, Cisco, HP
MessageLabs, vulnerability scanning, patching systems, Firewalls, Web protection
Desktop and Server Virtualisation - VMWare preferable
Back up technologies - Veeam etc
Linux & Windows server administration

Systems Administrator Desired Technical Skills

• Configuration Management - Puppet

• Change Control - GitHub

• Experience of administration and configuration of Telephony systems, particularly VOIP and unified comms

• Scripting - PowerShell, Python, Bash

Systems Administrator Personal Skills/Attributes

• Proven experience of working in a dynamic IT environment

• Able to prioritise tasks effectively and adapt to changing priorities

• Excellent communication skills, able to communicate at both a technical and a non-technical level

• MUST be willing to work out of hours if required

Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK
