Job description

We are seeking a Nursery Deputy Manager (Maternity cover) for a cosy home from home setting located close to Marlow, where children aged 3 months to 5 years enjoy inspirational learning and play.

Set in a historical building close to the train station and local bus routes the nursery offers a range of facilities and beautiful outside space; it also has parking close by. This well established nursery builds strong relationships with parents and in the community to provide the very best environment for the children. Outside they have a specially designed garden where children can climb, splash and explore.

As the Nursery Deputy Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring the wellbeing of every child, staff, parent, and visitor. Your responsibilities include understanding and meeting the requirements of the statutory framework for the EYFS, as well as ensuring compliance with various regulatory bodies and nursery standards and policy. You will support the Manager in smooth day to day running of the nursery and help and encourage the team to develop their skills and knowledge.

Responsibilities:

• You will lead by example, fostering positive relations, and supporting staff through recruitment, induction, and ongoing professional development
• As a key member of the team, you will lead the embedding of the curriculum and promote a culture of learning and development throughout the nursery
• Your effective communication skills will promote positive partnerships with parents and carers. You will manage any concerns raised with thoroughness and in a timely fashion
• You will manage and report child safeguarding matters, conduct regular inspections, and ensure the highest levels of cleanliness and hygiene in the nursery.
• Maintaining accurate records, supporting the commercial performance of the nursery, participating in marketing activities, and attending senior team meetings are integral aspects of this role

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Have a relevant and recognised childcare qualification level 3 or ideally higher
• Recent Paediatric First Aid certificate
• Experience of management in a nursery setting
• Experience of implementing the EYFS
• DBS cleared
