Job description

  • Review electrical project plans and proposals, and work with management to develop project objectives
  • Study product design, customer requirements, and performance standards to determine project specifications and present cost estimates
  • Review contractor bids
  • Through project coordination meetings and other forms of communication, oversee and coordinate the technical aspects of the electrical projects
  • Prepare status reports and regularly monitor schedules
  • Maintain accurate record of all elements of the project via an electronic database
  • Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards, and specifications
  • Interact daily with clients to interpret their needs and requirements
  • Read drawings and prepare take-offs
  • Prepare, submit, and track RFIs and submittals
  • Generate and track all change orders
  • Track and log all electrical drawings
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with the Electrical Project Manager and other project participants to ensure project success
  • Inform safety managers, superintendents, and/or appropriate supervisors of any safety violations and/or injuries immediately
  • Establish annual continuing education goals to improve performance and proficiency in construction project management


  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering, or related field
  • 1+ years' relevant work experience, knowledge of general contracting a plus
  • Ability to pass pre-employment ten-year background check and drug screen
  • Ability to interpret drawings and specifications
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Organization and time management skills
  • Familiarity with Excel, Word, Bluebeam, and/or Timberline
  • Knowledge of preconstruction phase, bidding/estimating, accounting, risk management, safety, budget control, schedule control, submittals, RFIs, and change order processes
  • Advanced knowledge of construction engineering technology, codes, standards, etc, plus an in-depth understanding of the interdependence and relationship between construction and design teams
