Job description

We are seeking a Director, to serve
as the association lead on specific priority areas within the Practice and
Science Affairs and Professional Affairs Departments. The areas of
responsibility include furthering association projects related to practice
advancement, transformation and innovation; the development of practice
tools/resources; serving as a subject matter expert and resource on patient
care service delivery, documentation and billing; monitoring of key practice
issues and providing outreach representation of the association; and engagement
of members on completion of work contributing to the practice and professional
affairs workplan.

The Primary Responsibilities Are:

  • Leading, directing,
    and/or participating in assigned projects and initiatives that advance
    sustainable pharmacists' patient care services (e.g., innovative practice
    models, health information technology, payment for services, quality).
  • Leading and/or contributing
    to the development, creation, promotion and distribution of practice and
    professional affairs deliverables including products, information, tools and
    resources.
  • Serving as a practice and
    professional affairs subject matter expert by monitoring the environment and
    contributing/leading efforts to advance key patient care service areas,
    including but not limited to, medication management services, chronic disease
    management, prevention and wellness, medication safety and public health.
  • Managing outreach,
    engaging in support, facilitating communications, and completing projects and
    programs targeted at engaging residents, preceptors and directors in APhA.
  • Contributing to the
    development and maintenance of standards and related documents for the accreditation
    of PGY1 community residencies in partnership with ASHP for Community Pharmacy
    Residency Programs.
  • Serve as an Association
    representative on community pharmacy residency accreditation site visits and
    the ASHP Commission on Credentialing
  • Serving as APhA's primary
    liaison to assigned external coalitions and workgroups
  • Representing APhA at
    external meetings and make presentations as assigned.
  • Handling telephone,
    electronic and other inquiries from leaders, members and non-Members and
    providing high level customer service to APhA members.
Education Required:
  • Doctor of Pharmacy
    degree.
  • PGY1 Pharmacy residency
    strongly preferred.


Experience Required:
  • 3 to 5 years of pharmacy
    practice and management experience is required.
  • Prior professional
    association experience is preferred.
  • Extensive prior
    experience as a residency program director or preceptor strongly preferred.
  • Practice-based or
    Academic formal teaching experience preferred5 years of related position
    experience in customer service, fulfillment and use of databases for customer
    service.
