Job description

The School of the Cathedral located in Baltimore, Maryland seeks an organized, energetic, creative, and compassionate Director of Remote Learning for the 2 school year to manage and teach in 100% remote learning environment. The Director of Remote Learning, reporting to the school Principal, will help coordinate and manage the Archdiocese Remote Learning program at The School of the Cathedral. The Director may be asked to teach a reduced course load in addition to the leadership duties.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain high professional standards consistent with the mission of the school and the teachings of the Catholic Church
  • Acts as the liaison between the remote teachers, students and parents
  • Respond to parent communication in a professional, empathetic, and timely manner
  • Help create and manage the master schedule of classes
  • Be available by phone, email or video conferencing to confer with district personnel, school administration, and/or parents
  • Acts as an instructional coach in conjunction with the school Principal
  • Help teachers develop, plan, and deliver lessons and activities via distance learning consistent with the Archdiocese of Baltimore curriculum guidelines that motivate, challenge, engage and accommodate students individual needs
  • Support the school's culture of respect through effective classroom management techniques (PBIS)
  • Work collaboratively with other teachers, staff, and administration
  • Integrate technology while teaching in a 100% remote teaching environment to enhance instruction


JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree in early childhood or elementary education
  • MSDE certification in early childhood education or elementary education or the ability to obtain certification in one to two years
  • Experience teaching in the K-8 level
  • Experience teaching online or in a hybrid learning environment
  • Experience using Google Classroom
  • Experience using iPads or Chromebooks with students
  • Admin I/II preferred
  • 2-3 years experience as a Principal, Assistant Principal, or Division Head preferred
  • Practicing Catholic preferred
