JOB DESCRIPTIONPink Aid is seeking a Director of Development who will be a vibrant and dedicated leader capable of building on the success of the organization. The successful candidate will be a highly intelligent self-starter with substantial experience in the nonprofit sector and is passionate about the cause.The Director of Development will be responsible for implementing future strategies developed in conjunction with the Board to grow the fundraising efforts of both chapters as well as nationally.The Director of Development will provide structure and improve processes for internal Pink Aid operations around events, fundraising, grant writing, new initiatives, ongoing programs, communications, board development, governance and financial management.Our ideal candidate will share the mission of Pink Aid and will be able to communicate our vision clearly and effectively to a wide range of audiences. The candidate will be passionate about helping underserved women, men and families facing challenges associated with this disease.The Director of Development will report to Pink Aids President(s) and Board of Directors, and will work closely with the part-time Business Manager, event co-chairs, committee heads and donors to make sure all business is managed in an organized and professional manner. The Director of Development and Operations will oversee all operations and be fiscally responsible for our current annual operating budget of over $1.0 million. The candidate will have regular communications with the Board of Directors, active volunteers who oversee various committees as well as the community at large.JOB RESPONSIBILITIESThis position will require active involvement and focus in the following areas:Fundraising: Currently Pink Aid raises approx. 90% of its annual budget through one major event: the October Luncheon & Fashion Show in CT and LI. Our goal is that this person expands our Fundraising capability to Corporations and Foundations nationally as well as locally.Corporate Sponsorships: We are looking to find and develop relationships with National Corporate Sponsors that align with our mission. Working closely with the Corporate Sponsor Chairperson, this person will manage existing corporate sponsors and help develop new initiatives such as corporate matching, corporate volunteerism, etc.Foundations:We are looking to find and develop relationships with National Foundations that align with our mission. This person should have the ability and experience to write compelling grant requests and present to various organization and foundation boards on behalf of Pink Aid.Top Donor Relations: Coordinate with the Board of Directors on maintaining and increasing top donor activity.New Events: Initiate and manage new fundraising opportunities.Communications & MarketingDirect and maintain communications and correspondence with donors and sponsors for both CT and Long Island chapters.Coordinate all marketing initiatives relevant to fundraising.Work with Pink Aids social media volunteers as needed, to support fundraising efforts.QualificationsBachelors DegreeMinimum 5 years experience in fundraising, including demonstrated success in solicitation of major gifts and sponsorships, gifts and grant writing and all aspects of donor management.Experience in supporting event sponsorshipsDemonstrated experience in implementing best practices in a non-profit to improve the administration of programs, communication and fundraising efforts.Experience in strategic planning, and implementation.Strong initiative and self-motivation.Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.Ability to occasionally work outside of standard hours as needed
