Scope of Service:
To undertake Type Approval/Certification of assigned subjects for all Company products in support of the Whole Vehicle Type Approval.
To proactively support the functional feature and system owners to achieve compliant designs through their expert theoretical and practical legislation awareness and detailed understanding of assigned certification subjects.
To work with functional system owners to ensure that all required component level approvals are obtained in a timely manner.
Support and Lead Certification approval of assigned subjects
To work proactively with the functional feature and system owners to ensure that legislative and certification requirements are "designed-in" at the earliest appropriate stage. To exploit the use of computer aided engineering to maximise design verification using "virtual" methods prior to, or in place of, the use of physical properties.
Delivery of projects
Responsible for Type Approval/Certification of systems approvals and market specific data which, when introduced in to production, are safe, compliant with regulations and otherwise fit for purpose (including product liability requirements) and which satisfy Manufacturing, Service and Conformity of Production requirements.
Responsible for planning, monitoring and expediting specified tests, documentation and Type Approval/Certification of vehicles, systems and components.
Collect, manage and analyse data to produce reports/presentations as appropriate and progress design guidelines. Deliver presentations at appropriate level.
Experience of dealing with certification / homologation is desirable
Experience or understanding of homologation according to EU/ UNECE regulations is desirable.
The candidate needs to have an eye for detail and a structured approach to work.
Ability to communicate at various levels across the company in different forums.
Ability to solve problems.
A broad understanding of Safety Certification is preferred
