Associate Athletics Director for Finance & Business Ops/Director of Finance

Seattle University is a highly selective, independent, Catholic, Jesuit institution adjacent to downtown Seattle, and is seeking a dynamic and proven athletics department professional to serve as its Associate Athletics Director for Finance & Business Ops/Director of Finance.

Located on Capitol Hill, one of Seattle's most vibrant neighborhoods, Seattle University is one of 28 Jesuit colleges and universities in the United States and currently enrolls more than 7,400 graduate and undergraduate students within nine schools and colleges. The university's athletic program fields 20 Division I intercollegiate teams (9 men's and 11 women's) and is comprised of more than 350 student athletes. The Redhawks, Seattle University's athletic teams, compete in the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) in all sports and have an excellent track record of achievement both on the field and court and in the classroom. In the five years with the WAC, the Redhawk teams have a combined 31 WAC conference titles, including both team and individual championships.Reporting to the Director of Athletics, the Director of Finance position provides senior level leadership and will oversee all financial functions and administration in the Athletics department.

Oversee Athletics financial administration and operations, annual budget preparations, ongoing budget management in compliance with appropriate Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), as well as university and NCAA requirements.

Work with the Director of Athletics to develop an annual budget and revenue projections.

Serve as the primary point of contact between financial units and Athletics. Present to university leadership or board of trustees as assigned.

Perform financial analysis and provide Director of Athletics relevant financial projections and analysis, cost modeling, spending trends, budget projections and cost/benefit analyses for short and long term departmental financial plans.

Provide strategic budgetary projections and recommendations including those related to the NCAA
dashboard indicators.

Develop and implement fiscal operational policies, procedures, practices and standards that ensure
efficiency and NCAA compliance.

Manage the monthly and fiscal year end accounting closing process, perform account analysis and

Prepare annual year-end Athletics financial statements, federal and NCAA reports (EADA, Membership
Financial Reporting System, etc.) and audits.

Establish and maintain systems and controls for effective accounting policies and procedures which verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data, and safeguards the University's assets and manages risk particularly in areas of travel, credit cards, equipment and cash.

Prepare and maintain database and records for continued tracking of all Athletics budgets, operating
budgets, endowed funds and gift accounts. Provide monthly budget reporting to Director of Athletics.

Monitor revenue against budget and goals by the different types of revenue streams (fundraising, ticketing, corporate partnerships, licensing, camps, facilities, NCAA & WAC grants, etc.)

Forecast and manage postseason budget and serve as a liaison to the NCAA for postseason travel logistics.

Work collaboratively with Associate Athletics Director for Compliance & Student Athlete Services and the Director of Financial Aid to ensure compliance and budgetary management of Athletics Financial Aid, which may include housing, board and books. Manage student athlete on campus meals during preseason and between academic terms.

Oversee the procurement, management, and maintenance of vendor agreements, including travel, car program, footwear, apparel, food services, etc. Ensure adherence to university procurement processes, major purchases and related inventory for the department.

Manages facility and equipment leases.

Supervise full time business operations assistant and others, including the possibility of sport supervision, as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
